INTIMATIONS - SUNDAY, 1^st NOVEMBER 2026

A warm welcome is extended to everyone joining with us for worship this morning, in person and on-line from wherever you are locally and from many other parts of the world. A special welcome and thanks to Lorna Duncan who is kindly leading our worship today. Tea and coffee will be available after the service.

The service is live streamed as well as being available on the Minister’s Facebook page at “Minister Denny Old and Haggs”. Church news and intimations can be accessed on Denny Old and Haggs United Church website - www.dennyoldandhaggs.co.uk.

A list of upcoming services and large print Order of Service are available if needed. The next mid-week service in Haggs Church is on Wednesday, 11^th November, at 2.00pm.

Soup and Sandwich Lunch: Following our service today we will be having a Soup and Sandwich Lunch, with all proceeds going to CrossReach, to support the projects they run throughout Scotland for those in need.

The funeral of our elder Robert Kennedy will be held here in Denny Old and Haggs United Church on Friday, 6^th November at 11.15am. Following comital at Falkirk Crematorium everyone is invited to join with the family in the Church Halls for a cuppa.

Please note the service next week at Denny Old and Haggs United will begin at 11.30am. To enable those wishing to attend the Act of Remembrance at the Denny Cenotaph.

There will be a short service at Longcroft Memorial next Sunday,

8th November to which all are invited to remember those who sacrificed their lives to keep us safe. Rev Raheel Arif will lead the parade from Haggs Church Hall at 10.40am to the Longcroft Memorial for a 10.50am service, including uniformed organisations laying wreaths. Everyone is welcome back to the Church Hall following the service for tea/coffee and cake.

Trustee Safeguarding Training for Elders: This will be taking place on Saturday 7^th November at 10 am in Denny Church Hall. There are still a few places available. If anyone needs help to sign up, please speak to Vivien Gillies.

The Snowdrop Café meets every Monday from 1-3pm in Haggs Church Hall. Everyone welcome.

The Lunch Box is open on Mondays in Denny Church Hall from 11-1pm serving soup, sandwiches, cakes and tea/coffee all very reasonably priced.

The Boys’ Brigade, 1^st Haggs Company are on every Tuesday night in Haggs Church Hall. They run from 6.15pm to 7.45pm and are open to all boys and girls in Primary 1 all the way up to secondary.

The Girls’ Brigade: meet on Mondays in Denny Church Hall at 6.15pm for a 6.30pm start. All girls of school age will be made very welcome.

Blythswood Shoe Box Appeal:  Could all boxes be handed in today or as soon as possible. Any problems please speak to Beth Young.

The Mission and Outreach Group next meets on Monday, 9^th November at 7.30 and you would be very welcome to come along to share your ideas. 

Coffee & Chat Club: The next meeting will be on Tuesday, 10^th November at 2.00pm in Denny Church Hall. Everyone is welcome to come along to join us for a cuppa and a blether.

Kirk Session next meets on Wednesday, 11^th November, at 7.00pm in the Session Room at Denny Church.

Free Coats and Jackets: On Monday, 16^th November free coats and jackets will be available from 11.30 until 1 pm while the Lunch Box is on. Any additional donations of warm coats and jackets will be welcome.

The Christmas Shoppers Lunch is on Saturday, 5^th December from 11.00am – 1.30pm, in Denny Church halls. There will be fancy goods, cake & candy and bottle stall. Help with home baking for cake & candy stall and donations for bottle stall would be greatly appreciated. More information from Janet.

The Congregation Christmas Lunch is on Saturday, 12^th December at

1.00pm.

The ‘Yoga 4 All’Sessions held in Haggs Church Hall are moving to the new winter time of 2.30-3.45pm on Thursday afternoons.

Community Exercise Classes and Keep Fit for All, including the Denny and District Hearties, are held in Denny Church Hall. Contact Kirsty Arnott 07938 169967 for more details.      

Pastoral Visiting Teams:  If you know of someone in hospital, at home, in a care home, or just needing a visit, please let us know by speaking to those on door duty or dropping a note in the box on the table at the front door. You can also contact Raheel on 01324 819149 and he will pass on details.
