INTIMATIONS

A warm welcome is extended to everyone joining with us for worship today, in person and on-line. The service is live streamed as well as being available on the Minister’s Facebook page at “Minister Denny Old and Haggs”.  Communion will be celebrated in Haggs Church on Wednesday,

24th September at 7.00pm.

Large print Order of Service is available at the door, if you would like a copy please ask. There is a printed copy of these Intimations available at front door showing phone numbers and other information.

 

Service Times: There is a revised sheet available at the front door, and in the hall, showing dates and times for upcoming services through to December. Mid-week services at Haggs Parish Church will take place until the Church building is sold. These will be on the second and last Wednesdays of the month. The next service is on Wednesday, 24th September at 7.00pm (doors open 6.30pm).

 

The Lunch Box is on Mondays from 11.00am-1.00pm, serving soup, sandwiches, tea/coffee and home baking, at a very reasonable price.  Everyone welcome.

 

Boys’ Brigade:  The 2nd Parent’s Information event is this Tuesday, 16th September from 7.00pm

till about 7.30pm at the Church Hall in Denny

 

The Anchors are open to those in P1-P3

Juniors is open to those in P4-P6

Company and Seniors is open to those in P7 and up

 

We look to start the session off on Tuesday, 23rd September with a games night. Please pass along the details to anyone who would be interested as we are the last BB Company in our area.

 

Girls’ Brigade is on Mondays at 6.15pm for 6.30pm start. All girls of school age will be made very welcome. The team are still looking for new leaders so please consider if you would like to join in. See Marion Reid if interested.

 

The Snowdrop Café meets on Mondays at 1.00pm in Haggs Church Hall. All are welcome.

The Snowdrop Café are holding a MacMillan Cancer Support Lunch on Monday, 22nd September in Haggs Church Hall from 1.00-3.00pm. Please come along and support this charity event. Raffle prizes and home baking will be gratefully received.

(If visiting Haggs Church it should be noted that the area across the road previously used for parking can no longer be used. This is now owned privately, and we have been respectfully asked not to use).

 

‘Yoga 4 All’ sessions have re-started in Haggs Church Hall on Thursday evenings from 7.00-8.15pm.

More information available from Sue Storrar, a qualified Yoga Scotland teacher with many years’ experience. Anyone who wants to improve their flexibility and balance in a safe environment are welcome to join this group.

 

Blythswood Shoeboxes:  Beth Young is again organising the Shoebox Appeal and leaflets are now available. Shoeboxes should be returned by Sunday, 26th October. Speak to Beth for more information.

 

The Minibus is available to transport members to Denny. This service is also available to folk from the Denny and Dunipace area.  Please call John on 07799 145121 to arrange a lift.


Soup & Sandwich Lunch: There will be a Soup and Sandwich Lunch after our Harvest Service on 28th September with all donations going to support the work of Christian Aid. Anyone who can help by making soups or can help on the day should speak to Sue or Evelyn.

 

Pastoral Visiting Teams:  If you know of someone in hospital, at home, in a care home, or just needing a visit, please let us know by speaking to those on door duty or dropping a note in the box on the table at the front door. You can also contact Raheel on 01324 819149 and he will pass on details.

 

Coffee and Chat Club:  A new venture begins on Tuesday, 23rd September, from 2.00pm-3.30pm in Denny Church Hall. This is a chance for everyone to come together to enjoy a good blether and catch up with friends old and new. All are welcome – male and female.

Community

 

Denny Westpark is having a concert “Heavenly Harmonies” next Saturday, 20th September beginning at 2.30pm. This Concert features the Church Organist joined by Robin Bell and other organists. More details on poster in hall.
