INTIMATIONS

A warm welcome is extended to everyone joining with us for worship today, in person and on-line. The service is live streamed as well as being available on the Minister’s Facebook page at “Minister Denny Old and Haggs”. Tea and coffee will be served in the hall following this service. Come along and meet up with friends, old and new. There are still some items for sale following the Christmas Shoppers Lunch yesterday.

 

Large print Order of Service is available at the door, if you would like a copy please ask.

 

Service Times: Printed sheet available at the front door, and in the hall, showing phone numbers and other details as well as dates times for upcoming services through to March 2026. Date of next mid-week service in Haggs Church is this Wednesday, 10th December at 2.00pm. Holy Communion will be celebrated at this service. Parking is now restricted to the Church car park or Cumbernauld Road (with steps up to the hall).

 

Following the Joint Congregations Service last Sunday the following email has been received:

St Helen’s and all the congregations that took part in the cluster service for donating a very generous £355.50 to Aberlour Children’s Charity. 

We really appreciate your continued support for our cause.

Congregation Christmas Meal: There will be a retiring collection following this service giving an opportunity to contribute to providing the Congregation Christmas Meal and the Benevolent Fund. Forms for the Christmas Meal, on 20 December at 1.00pm, should be returned by today. There will be a meeting of the working group after church on 14 December to finalise arrangements.

 

The Lunch Box is on Mondays from 11.00am-1.00pm, serving soup, sandwiches and home baking all at a very reasonable price. Everyone welcome. The last Lunch Box before Christmas will be Monday, 15 December, returning on Monday, 5 January.

 

1st Haggs Boys’ Brigade: The BB’s meet at Haggs Church Hall on Tuesdays from 6.30pm-7.30pm. The Brigade will be stopping for Christmas on Tuesday, 16 December, and will be back on

Tuesday, 6 January.

 

Girls’ Brigade: The GB’s meet on Mondays, in Denny Church Halls, at 6.15pm for 6.30pm start. All girls of school age will be made most welcome. The girls will be holding their Christmas Party on Monday, 15 December and will then be on holiday until Monday, 5 January. If you would like to consider being a new leader, please see Marion Reid.

 

Pastoral Visiting Teams:  If you know of someone in hospital, at home, in a care home, or just needing a visit, please let us know by speaking to those on door duty or dropping a note in the box on the table at the front door. You can also contact Raheel on 01324 819149 and he will pass on details.

 

Coffee and Chat Club:  The next Meeting will be this Tuesday, 9December at 2.00pm. This is an informal meeting giving a chance to catch up with friends old and new.

 

Christmas Shoppers Lunch a huge thank you to everyone who made yesterday’s Lunch such a happy and successful event. It was wonderful to have so many folk come along and the wonderful sum of £1130.00 was raised for church funds.

Community

 

Community Exercise Class and Keep Fit for All in Denny Church hall, including the Denny and District Hearties, will finish for Christmas break on Tuesday, 16 December and will resume on Tuesday, 13 January 2026. Thanks for all your support in 2025.

 

Dunipace Parish Church are organising a Light up Christmas Family Festive Event.

The Family Event takes place on Sunday 14th December. It's Free. All ages are welcome,

Children must be accompanied by an adult. See poster in hall for details.

Folks are invited to gather in the Gala Park (beside the car park) at about6pm-6.15pm, with their lanterns. Then, in a procession, we will make our way over to Dunipace Church & Community Garden, where our Christmas Lights will be put on at about 6.30pm. Thereafter, we will go into the church & hall for carol singing, Christmas stories (which includes the Christingle) a quiz and lots of festive activities for all ages. Tea, coffee, juice, hot chocolate and Christmas tasty treats will be offered. (If the weather is really inclement, we will gather in the church garden for the lights going on and then go straight into the halls, etc).  Let's make it a community celebration for us all!
